Craniosacral therapy (CST) is trauma informed and includes a brief check-in (5-10 min) before and after hands on work,
Comfy clothes (whatever that means to you) are great for sessions. All bodywork is done fully clothed.
During your session you do not need to breathe a certain way or try to relax. You get to be, just as you are. Your body and the connection between our nervous systems through touch will do the work. All touch work is collaborative and consent is discussed at length. It is okay and encouraged for you to acknowledge if you need us to stop, pause or make adjustments.
This work can be still and quiet and sometimes people fall asleep. And that is completely okay. This work is happening at a nervous system and body level and will happen awake or asleep. Most people fall into a space between wake and sleep where there is space for new perspectives and shifts to occur.
Focus can be on chronic pain or tension, emotional release, preparation for an upcoming surgery or medical procedure or recovery from a significant life event (examples: pregnancy, birth, injury). If you are looking for a session with a mixture of hands on and verbal processing please refer to the Body Centered Therapy section.
